3    Hello, Eugene!
I was out of state for a week.
And just today afternoon Ive returned from my creasy business-trip.
Thats why it took me so long to answer on your remark.
The main idea to gather as much as possible information about
different places is to make the most far-sighted decision. So, I have
to take into consideration not only how expensive (or inexpensive)
cost of living is, not only the job-advancement prospects and other
buzz factors, but how my personal life style itself will mach with
particular city life style.
I will be grateful to you if you tell me something from your own
experience living in Chicago.
Wishing you all the best.
Alexander

4    Hi, Alexander! I dont know if you know English enough to understand what i am writing. I just want to respond to your questions about Boston. It is a very beautiful, quiet city with a lof of jobs, though i dont know what kind of job you are looking for, also it is a city with not a lot of crime. You certainly can not live in a center of the city, because it is very expensive, but there are a lof of areas where you can rent a place for decent amount of money. They are if you are interested: Natick, Framingham, Holliston, Revere, Winthrop, Quincy. You can write a letter to some russian realtors, and they might help you. I forgot to tell you that the weather in Boston is very close to the weather of Ukraine, if you are from there. It is cold in winter, but not very severe, it is snowing very often and it is also very windy. Summer is very nice, a lot of places on the ocean to rest. If you have more questions, just write and I will try to answer. Good luck, Polina.

5    Hello, Polina!
Thank you for quick respond.
Im pretty sure you know that Kiev or Lviv, Yalta or Simferopol
differ in weather conditions. So, Id like to clarify with you few things.
Are the temperature fluctuations can be quick and unpredictable at any
particular season? Do you feel that Bostons weather is somewhat mild
in the fall/spring?
Polina, do you consider summer weather is comfortable enough
to be outdoors, playing tennis or biking? (I hate hot temperature and high
humidity from May till September at Midwest!!!).
And what about black ice, snowstorms, icy rains in winter? I dont like
those easer, because I have freakish habit to drive about 5mph above speed
limit all the time.
How bad is traffic across the city during rush hours? May I expect only
10-15 min. delay or much longer? Are those delays frequent?
Polina, what do you think about Somerville?
Can I get a decent apartment for $900-1100/mo. in Boston? ( I dont care
much about center part of city,- fresh air is better than nosy environment).
Again, thank you for your time and attention.
My best wishes to you.
Alexander.
P.S. Sorry, for asking so many questions.

6    Hi, Alexander! Yes, the climate is very changeable in Boston, the weather can change every 40 minutes, but nothing extraordinary happens when you listen to the forecast in the morning before going to work. Yes, it is humid sometimes, it is not that frequent as in Midwest, but it lasts sometimes for a couple of weeks in Boston, and we all are dying from humidity. But it depends where you live also. I live near the ocean, it is easier to survive there. I just asked my coworkers and they said that you will be able to find something in Somerville for 1,200.00 probably, but as I said you have to use professiona realtors for this. Because I think now it is easier to find something for less money than it was before September 11 unfortunately. Somerville is also a town of students, it is not far from Harvard University, that explains its high prices. But frankly speaking I am not familiar with Somerville. It is very close to the center of the city. I know that it is a safe area. We dont have a black ice problem, I ve heard about this from people who lived in the West Coast. You are asking about icy rains, they are not frequent, but you might get once in a while during the winter. The question about traffic is very important, but you can always use a public transportation in Somerville, this is a big advantage of this city, cause it works very good, though I dont use it right now. Six years ago it was very good. I cant tell you about traffic delays, cause I try to leave my house earlier if I hear on the TV about some delays or just change my way to work. It is always a way out of some situations like traffic delays. Boston is not New York , where delays are very often. I think you will love living in Boston, though it is a very expensive state comparing to others, I mean in terms of taxes and cost of life. Think about it, before moving. They say that we have more lawyers in Massachusetts, then there are lobsters in Main. This is why it is so expensive for living. Good luck. Polina.

7    Hello, Polina!
Thank you for a such interesting and informative letter. Now, with all
those facts and some tables with monthly temperature averages, precipitation,
relative humidity, I can imagine Bostons climate more clearly.
Besides, I have to take into account the wide spectrum of possibilities available
in other cities.
So, Ill think about all of it 7 times (as old Russian wisdom advised), and
maybe even an additional time (I hope, it will not hurt me too much).
Polina, Im very grateful to you for providing me with really useful information
about Boston. Yes, it definitely helps me!
I wish you all the best!
Alexander
