Dear Lev,
I have F-1 visa and want to bring my daughter here,in US, for a while. She is in my foreign password. They will issue her I-20 in international programs. Do I have to take this I-20 to the consulate in Russia and have F-2 sealed into my foreign password together with F-1 which I already have? Will this F-2 cost me the same as my F-1 visa ($150 per year...)
What proofs do they want that she'll come back - a return ticket or my word will be enough?

Why you use "password" instead of "passport"? What this, a new joke?
You need no I-20 for your daughter. If you have an F-1 visa, your daughter must receive F-2 automatically. You need to represent her birth certificate as a proof that she is your child.
Why you did not receive this visa for her at the same time?
$150 per year? I don't know what you are talking about. Your visa shoud be D/S, that means "duration of studying", and you shouldn't extend it every year.

Sorry, it is tough to sit near computer all day long - it messes with your head eventually.

Cool! So I do not need to go to the consulate in Russia and get a separate F-2 visa for her sealed into my password, right?

Because she had a different name back then. Because my husband was adopting her and this process is taking some time, you know. So I knew she'll have another name sometime soon and didn't get visa for her, so it wouldn't look overcomplicated later.

Well, when I got my F-1 Visa, I payed $150 per year in the consulate in Russia, multiple entrance visa. I'm not sure if you still have to pay the same money, I think they changed it recently, but I'm not sure.

Not every year of course. But once F-1 is expired, I should get a new visa. Right now this is the least of my problems - I have visa for another 2 years...
You see, you need I-20 to enter US, but you also need up-to-date visa to leave Russia...
