    Address and Phone Number

Our job is to fill the gaps between different levels of requirements in Middle School, High School, and College. We teach the understanding of the material instead of memorizing it to see the logic within a problem and to develop ordered math thinking, reasoning capabilities and problem solving skills. Math problems and topics not covered in regular schools are included in our program, that even average students enjoy thinking and discussing them.

Favorable Math Classes and Grateful Curriculum

Regular math classes, SAT tests preparation courses and tutoring services are offered throughout the academic year and during our Summer School. Unlikely commercial programs we support an individual and systematic approach to education. A math class sizes don't exceed of 10 students per class. Our curriculum is original and was developed by the famous math teachers and Methodists specifically for First School of Mathematics.

    Our Greatest Teachers

Founder of FSM and full time math teacher Dr. Victor Lisyanoy holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics. He has published more than 30 research papers and more than 25 years of teaching experience at various schools and Universities. The Famous high schools professors have been invited for mathematics tutoring: math studies, math practice, private mathematics lessons, SAT and college preparation in Boston, MA. The best Private instructors in math education in Boston, MA teaches in our school!

    Advanced Annual Courses

ELEMENTARY MATHEMATICS (grades 1 and 2)
    Call us at 617-566-8744

This course is offered once a week in one and a half hour sessions. The course is designed to help the youngest students to develop the basic arithmetic and analytical skills: numbers and counting, measurements, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, sample math problems. The main emphasis is logical reasoning and math thinking.

    MATHEMATICS (grades 3 and 4)

This course is offered once a week in 2 or 3 hours sessions. The main role of this course is a mathematical background for the future success in math studies. Students are oriented to develop computational and problem solving skills. Elements of Introduction to Algebra and Geometry are first entered in this course.

PRE-ALGEBRA and Introduction to GEOMETRY (grades 5 and 6)

A course is offered once a week in 2.5 or 3 hours sessions. This course, after a progressive review of decimals, fractions and percents, provides a concrete approach to algebraic concepts and directs a student's focus on linear equations, polynomials and inequalities. Two years of math studies are based on intensive math practice.

    ALGEBRA I (grades 6, 7, 8 and 9)

A complete algebra course is offered once a week in 2or 3 hours sessions.. At the first year: the basic operations with polynomials, algebraic fractions and irrational numbers. At the second year: the solution of equations and application to problem situations, intensive treatment of radicals, systems of linear and non-linear equations, inequalities and graphs. At the third year theory of functions completes this math tutoring course.

    GEOMETRY (grades 6, 7, 8 and 9)

A comprehensive 3-year course (1hour twice a week) is offered: first year includes angles, polygons, parallel lines and congruence; second year includes similarity, circles, areas, and volumes; third year includes constructions with straight edge and compass, trigonometry of right triangle coordinate system. Students will be introduced to deductive and inductive reasoning and formal logic. Successful combination of ALGEBRA I and GEOMETRY courses should prepare students for SAT I.

    ALGEBRA II with PRE-CALCULUS (grades 9, 10 and 11)

This course is offered twice a week in 2 and 2.5-hours sessions. Topics include trigonometry, rational, exponential and logarithmic expressions and functions, vector algebra, polar coordinates, sequences and series and more.
Prerequisite: ALGEBRA I and GEOMETRY (or consent of the teacher).

    TRIGONOMETRY (grades 9, 10 and 11)

This 16-weeks Trigonometry course is offered once a week in 3 hours sessions. Topics include comprehensive study of unit circle, and radian measure; trigonometric equations and inequalities; trigonometric functions, their properties and graphs; formulas and trigonometric identities.
Prerequisite: ALGEBRA I and GEOMETRY (or consent of the teacher).

SAT I and SAT II Preparation

These courses are offered once a week in 3hours sessions. Students can take SAT I and SAT II preparation courses concurrently with their regular math classes. They are tested each week, real SAT tests are given periodically to develop test passing.

    CALCULUS (grades 10, 11 and 12)

This one year course is offered once a week for 3 hours sessions. The course begins with a review of functions, limits, and continuity, derivatives and integration continued with the Calculus of polynomial, rational, exponential and trigonometric functions, vectors, infinite series and simple differential equations. This math tutoring directs our students to a college preparation.

    PHYSICS and CHEMISTRY

These courses are developed to help students to do well in their study of physics and chemistry to prepare them for Subject SAT II tests. Covered topics include: motion, Newtonian dynamics, waves, heat, electricity and magnetism (physics): Periodic Table, chemical reactions, chemical bonding, organic compounds, acids and bases, oxidation-reduction reactions, equilibrium (chemistry).
